Timothy de Quetteville is a member of the teachers’ section of the Incorporated Society of Musicians. He has also gained Registered Private Teacher Status and enhanced CRB Disclosure through the I.S.M.
Timothy de Quetteville has had over 25 years experience teaching the piano privately. He caters for a wide range of students and takes both children and adults from complete beginners to advanced level. Lessons on a one to one basis are given on a beautiful Steinway grand piano in his tastefully furnished music studio.
Mr. de Quetteville is very aware of the individual musical requirements of his students and tailors lessons accordingly. The main teaching repertoire he uses is classical but he will give tuition on well written arrangements of popular contemporary music. Children, in particular, are encouraged to enter the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music piano exams which he hosts from his music studio at least twice a year for the exclusive use of his students. On examination day, he also provides superb warm up facilities on a new Steinway upright on which candidates are invited to practise before entering the examination room. Additionally, he is delighted for children with a flair for public performance to compete in the Jersey Eisteddfod if they wish.
He also enjoys teaching adult students and is aware that many learn for pure pleasure and relaxation or maybe to realise a lifelong ambition to play the piano that could not be fulfilled in childhood. Whatever their reason for learning, students of all ages are welcomed into the practice and have ranged from 4 to over 80 years old.
Below are links to several press cuttings from the Jersey Evening Post reporting some of the many outstanding results his students have achieved in their exams and at the Eisteddfod.
