Copyright
As a creative artist, your professional life is played out in the Intellectual Property environment.
On a daily basis, many of your activities, interface with the rules and regulations surrounding copyright.
These rules and regulations are set down in law in the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and the various Statutory Instruments, (19 to date), which have been appended to the Act .
Copyright protects the commercial interests and moral rights vested in Intellectual Property so that creators can be fairly rewarded and the integrity of their work safeguarded.
Copyright applies to performance, recording, broadcast, publication and transmission to the public, as well as filmography, art and photographic work and databases.
This is why we have taken the trouble to bring together various resources so that you can have an awareness and a better understanding of your rights, roles and responsibilities.
