“. . . inventive, relaxed and very entertaining.” MUSICAL OPINION
“. . . a pianistic treat of rare quality.”
SUNDAY TIMES, MALTA
Piano40 will be at London’s Southbank Centre on 21st May 2018
with a concert of original works including premieres of commissions by Eddie McGuire, Richard Nye and Sarah Rodgers.
Piano40 was formed in 1999 with a mission to foster interest in this neglected medium of 8 hands at 2 pianos. Building on the small core of original works written by Smetana, Moscheles and Moszkowski — and deliberately avoiding transcriptions — Piano40 has successfully developed the repertoire by having no fewer than thirty-three composers write original works especially for this unusual grouping.
To date, Piano40 has given nine sold-out concerts at London’s Southbank Centre as well as appearances at the Dulwich Festival, Oxford International Piano Festival, London’s St John’s Smith Square, Greenwich,
Budapest, Dusseldorf, Larnaca and Ljubljana.
