Written for Donald Hawksworth and the Samuel Green organ at St Mary’s Episcopal Church, Aberdeen, and first performed there on 20 August 1965.

Sarabande for St Kevin (1992) Duration 6 minutes
Commissioned by the 1992 Paisley International Organ Festival with financial assistance from the Scottish Arts Council. It served as the test piece in the Festival’s competition that year. First performed at the Festival on 3 August 1992. Novello & Company Ltd
Contemplator Celestium (2004) Duration 9 minutes
Commissioned by the Cathedral of the Isles with funds from Scotland ‘s Churches Scheme. It was written for John Kitchen who played it first in the Cathedral at Millport, Cumbrae on 6 June 2004. The music grows from the text and melody of an antiphon for the Feast of St Columba found in the Inchcolm Antiphoner. It tells of the star-gazer in wonderment of the mystery far beyond us all.
