Programme Note
Firebird Festival Nights is a collaboration between Firebird and Yury Revich’s “Festival Nights” series, which takes place principally in Vienna.
The main feature of this programme is an arrangement of Beethoven’s dazzling Kreutzer Sonata for Violin and String Orchestra, which will be narrated with excerpts from Leo Tolstoy’s book on the same subject.
This is complimented by beautifully melodious pieces of Yury’s own composition and popular virtuoso works by Massenet and Sarasate.
The fourth generation of a family of solo violinists, Yury Revich is a winner of both ECHO Classic and International Classical Music Awards and enjoys a busy international schedule of concerts and concertos across the globe. He has performed at each season with Firebird since 2019.
