Ensemble Renard

Programme Note
Award-winning Ensemble Renard Wind Quintet’s programme appropriately includes the delicious Summer Music by Samuel Barber, an arrangement of Mozart’s Andante for a Waltz, and a recent Aldeburgh Festival commission for them by star composer Cheryl Frances-Hoad, intriguingly named Blue Cheese and Olive Oil.

London-based wind quintet Ensemble Renard comprises five of the UK’s most outstanding young musicians. Travelling to all corners of the UK, from London to the Hebrides, every concert is tailored to its audience. Through frequent collaboration with composers, most Ensemble Renard concerts feature works especially written or arranged for them, and this is no exception.
