BIOGRAPHY
Elizabeth Green has extensive experience both as Teacher and Performer of music in her specialist skills of Violin and Piano.
With five years professional training at the Royal Academy of Music in London, her work brings precision and authority to whatever sphere is required.
Backed by Sidney Humphreys violin, and Max Pirani piano, she qualified as a Graduate and further trained in Chamber Music and Composition as a Post Graduate.
Her teaching appointments began as Assistant Music Teacher at Downe House School, Newbury, Berkshire; then moving on into self-employment with Inner London and Haringey. This was followed by an eighteen year stint as string teacher with Hertfordshire County Music School.
She then taught in Melbourne, Australia, at Melbourne Grammar School, and Brighton Boys’ Grammar School whilst being an accompanist at the Conservatorium, Melbourne.
Throughout, she has always had a full list of private pupils in both piano and violin.
As an accompanist, she draws on recital experience which includes Schubert Lieder, Operatic Arias, and Instrumental Ensembles both in the UK and Australia.
She is also a talented and experienced rehearsal pianist.
Elizabeth Green now lives and is professionally active in Australia.
EVENTS
In 2015, Elizabeth ran “Fundamentals of Music”, a 10-module course at The School of Economic Science
During 2014, Elizabeth performed Haydn and Mozart Piano Sonatas in the Mandeville Place Recitals, London, and in July, at the arts festival, Art in Action, Waterperry, Oxfordshire.
In January 2013 she curated a Baroque Music Weekend at Springhead House, Fontmell Magna, with tutors Judy Tarling and Peter Holman, of The Parley of Instruments.
In October 2012, with the participation of The Parley of Instruments, and Philippa Hyde soprano, she arranged a major Charity Event for St.James School, Durban, South Africa, at The Royal Academy of Music in London.
This was followed, in December, by a piano recital at the close of an international study week, in Malta, on Marsilio Ficino, the Florentine philosopher.
This recital took place at the Castile, in Valetta, in the presence of the Prime Minister.
TUITION
Details of fees are available on request.
Tuition for children and young adults (16 years and under) is available in a series of 10 lessons. For adults, an on-going commitment of one-hour lessons is recommended.
