Since its formation in 1990 the Duo Scaramouche has performed throughout
Europe to great public and critical acclaim and has taken part in international
music shows such as Musicora in the Grand Palais, Paris.
Their aim is simply to increase public perception and enjoyment of the large
and largely unplayed repertoire for piano duet and two pianos ranging from
classical to the contemporary.
Appearances by the Duo Scaramouche have included:
Paris - Salle Chopin - Pleyel and Auditorium Saint Germain
London - St. Johns Smith Square
Birmingham - Adrian Boult Hall
Prague - Music Academy
Bologna - Accademia Filarmonica
Ferrara - Sala Estense
At the Umbertide Spring Festival, a critic described their performance as:
....A clear demonstration of musical profundity....a programme of great
charm delivered with an enormous maturity of both technique and
interpretation.... Corriere dellUmbria
and at St.Johns Smith Square - London:
....Moszkowskys New Spanish Dances found ....a more expansive
dynamic range and a sense of fun which brought the music to life. This
was followed by the best playing of the evening in Debussys Petite Suite.
This was lovely with delicate phrasing, intimate details and a sense of
music flowing effortlessly from the instrument.... Musical Opinion
