Teaching

Marie believes that every person has a musical instrument they can play - the voice. She is ardently convinced too that the spoken voice indicates the style of singing voice and that it is when these two are as one that the result is music. Hence, as a celebrated dramatic soprano herself whose early qualifications were in speech, drama and voice as actress and teacher, Marie is particularly qualified to train pupils in vocal techniques.

Her steeping in the vocal development of the individual singing voice and belief in the effects of singing on the mind, body and spirit, have led to many masterclasses which she has given in Milan, Heidelberg and also at the University of Central Lancashire, University of Westminster, London Institute and Trinity College of Music. A r wegular speaker on healing in voice and singing to seminars of healing in medicine, she is now preparing a book on the subject.

In addition to her international operatic career, Marie is a frequent broadcaster on BBC Radio and Classic FM.

Come on Everybody, Sing!

and

Come on Everybody, Speak!

Uplifting masterclasses for
professionals and beginners alike, Marie Hayward builds voices and translates difficult vocal techniques into fun, easy exercises.

"These workshops are life-enhancing."
Ewan McVicar, Scotsman, 1997
