Professional Accompanist and
 Private Teacher of Piano, 
Violin and Music Theory

 

Elizabeth Green is an experienced accompanist available for choral rehearsals, vocal and instrumental recitals and for examinations.  She has a private teaching practice based in North Dorset, UK and accepts students from primary to diploma level, in Piano, Violin and Music Theory.

 

Elizabeth studied for five years at the Royal Academy of Music, London, including a post-graduate year in Chamber Music under Watson Forbes.  Her Professors were Max Pirani (piano), Sydney Humphreys (violin) and Manuel Frankell (harmony and composition).  As a full-time teacher her posts have included Music Assistant at Downe House, Newbury; Violin teacher and Orchestral director for Hertfordshire Music School, and in Australia, Violin teacher at Brighton Boys Grammar, and Melbourne Grammar Schools.

 

Her experience as a performer began at an early age in Music Festivals in Cheltenham, Bath and Bristol, with a debut Mozart Piano Concerto at Trowbridge Town Hall. Her work as an accompanist includes Song Recitals of Schubert Lieder and Operatic Arias at Leighton House, London, and at Art in Action, Wheatley, Oxford where she has also performed all the Mozart Piano Duets and taken part in various chamber music ensembles. In Australia she was repetiteur for the Young Victoria State Opera Group and resident accompanist at the Conservatorium, Melbourne University.

 

From 2005 to July 2009 Elizabeth taught piano and violin at Durston House School, Ealing, West London. Having moved to Dorset, from  September 2010 she has been appointed to the Instrumental staff at  Clayesmore, Sherborne Prep., and St.Andrew's C of E Junior School, Fontmell Magna.

Elizabeth has taught students of all ages and talents, and successfully prepared them in all piano, violin, and theory grades with outstanding results.

Tuition for children and young adults (16 years and under) is available in a series of 10 lessons.  For adults, an on-going commitment of one-hour lessons is recommended.
