movements commissioned by the Scottish Amateur Music Association.
Intermezzo and Prelude were first performed by the National Youth Brass band
of Scotland, conducted by Bryden Thomson, in Aberdeen on 18 July 1963. First
complete performance: National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain (3rd
Section), Fulham Town Hall, London, 16 October 1965.

sketches written for Peter White and his friends while Dalby was still a student.

Commissioned by the Globe Playhouse Trust¹s Shakespeare Birthday Fund, for
the London Symphony Orchestra¹s brass section, and first performed by them at
Southwark Cathedral on 30 April 1973, conducted by Elgar Howarth.

Music and Drama, Glasgow, on 22 September 1990, during the BASBWE
